Maca is popular with the indigenous population of the Peruvian Andes. Maca is a small root vegetable derived from the maca plant, which is cultivated in spring and grows at altitudes over 3500 meters. Traditionally incorporated into the diet of local people, maca root has evolved into a modern "superfood".
Raw maca roots are grown in a 5-year rotation without the use of pesticides. Our Maca is a blend of 4 different roots: 25% red, yellow, purple and black with a unique nutritional profile. Hand selected for the best quality, Maca root is purified in natural water. After drying, the maca root is ground into a fine powder and packaged.
